Post MBA Goal: After an MBA I want to get into strategy consulting.
Questions:
1. What are the schools for which I can realistically aim at?
2. How much would a work ex on the lower end be a factor in my application ?
3. Would LBS specifically be a good fit for me?
Your help would truly be appreciated!!
Thanks for your post.
Your relative lack of work experience will be a factor and should be one in choosing your programs. To answer your questions:
1. You should aim for schools that are more welcoming to younger applicants and that support your goals. Consider HBS, Stanford, Chicago, UCLA, Darden, CMU Tepper, and Columbia.
2. It should be a factor for you in choosing where to apply. Despite your stellar scores, if you want to increase your chances of acceptance aim for those programs where you are more likely to fit based on multiple criteria including amount of experience.
3. I don't think it would be a good fit because it generally trends older. Again, your other qualifications are impressive and it's possible LBS (or other programs that trend older) will be so impressed by what you have accomplished that they will admit you despite your age. But that's harder.
