Hi Aravind,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing your profile! Unfortunately, our firm primarily works with candidates applying to MBA programs in the US and Europe so I am less familiar with Indian MBA programs. However, in general, what jumps out to me right away is how far along you are in your career. Since it sounds like you’re already in a middle management position with a team reporting up to you, an Executive MBA may be a better fit for you. It also depends on what you want to do after business school – if you’re looking to facilitate a career switch, that may be more challenging through an EMBA.
Your GMAT may be a bit low for your peer group when you compare it to other engineers. If you have only taken the test once or twice, it may be worth investing in some additional tutoring to get your score up to >730. With that said, if some of your target schools have lower average GMAT scores, then that may be less of a concern.
In terms of your broader school selection process, I suggest looking through the rankings of different MBA programs (Forbes publishes international one-year MBA rankings, for example) and seeing what programs might be a good match for your goals and profile. The schools typically publish a class profile every year so that’s a great place to get a sense for whether or not you would be a good fit.
I hope that helps!
Best,
Melody
