I am trying to assess whether I should apply to business school in the next couple of years. My experience is prospective based on the year in which I plan to apply (2011).

Maybe I should rephrase the question- Would I have a realistic shot at any top 7 school + NYU with my resume? What would I need to improve?

Sure, you'd be competitive. But would that mean it's lock 'n load for you from here on in, in terms of your life/career choices? Talking about a prospective resume or profile may be a fun little exercise, so long as you keep it at that. Who knows, you may have an even strong profile without knowing it or planning it in advance if you're open to discovering other things along the way that you may not have "planned".

Anyhow, nice handle. I was only a fan of the first album myself, but I do like Yellow Ledbetter, esp the guitar work.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. Two years is a long time, and we'll see what comes along. I learned very early in my career that no plans are set in stone. But that said based on my experience breaking into investment banking from a non "target" school, I tend to approach things with the attitude that I need to take the initiative well in advance and work harder than someone with a shinier pedigree to accomplish the same things.

Ledbetter is legendary. You might like their rear view mirror album, it is a compilation of their best songs from their early career, including Yellow Ledbetter.
