- Indian female, age 31 at the time of application
- GPA: 8.59/10, GMAT: 740 (Q50, V40, IR7, Essay 5)
- Undergrad: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras (ranked in the top 200 out of 300,000 applicants in the entrace exam), B.Tech Major in Computer Science & Engg, Minor in Operations Research
- Work experience: 8+ years experience in Fixed Income & Technology Analytics with Lehman Brothers and Nomura Securities (2 years), Credit IT Analyst in Barclays Capital (6 months), Emerging markets & Treasury IT in UBS Investment Bank (6 years) - all in IT space except for a 3-month undergrad internship, which was with Quant desk in Lehman Brothers. Currently, employed as Director - developing IT strategy and roadmap for a program of size 1.5 million in expenditure.
- International work experience: Worked based out of Tokyo, then Singapore. Travelled to Hong Kong, Zurich, and New York on business.
- A few extracurriculars in areas of diversity within the companies I worked for. For eg. member of gay and lesbian network community in Lehman, led events for women & employee diversity in UBS, led initiatives for internal employee mobility, etc. Personally, travelled quite extensively in Asia and Europe for holiday.
- Want to pursue an MBA stong in the field of social finance; especially interested in VC/PE and in joining a firm with major foothold in impact investments, such as the VC arm of IFC of the World Bank. Second choice is Corporate Finance. Target schools are - Stanford, LBS, Booth, Columbia.
