Hi,
I want to apply for ISB - PGP this year (2026 intake)
Few details about me:
Gender: Male
10th - 84 percent (ICSE)
12th - 80 percent (ISC)
UG - 6.4 GPA (B - Tech - CSE - Tier 2 College)
Total Work Ex: 7 years at the time of admission (completed over years 6 as of now)
Post graduation I've been working in Consulting - EY
I've been promoted thrice, and maybe once more soon
Last five years I've been involved in a project for a leading private bank, building their lending platform
The project has involved leading multiple teams, working with multiple parties across vendors, etc.
I have played a key role in the creation, development, production movement and support of 5 - 6 retail products over the years
I've done few certifications via Udemy (sometimes needed to show learning hours for example)
Have received multiple "Kudos" awards and few "I Am Exceptional" awards as well (Both are awards given by my firm, the latter is more prestigious)
Have got quite a few EY Badges as well (its a programme where you show learning or examples of how skills have been used in projects/building tools)
Extracurriculars: I listen to a lot of music and I've quite passionate about working out. I doubt this would help my profile though.
My key concern is GMAT score
I know everyone probably has this problem, I too have very limited time. My last few mocks I have got something like a 525 - 555 (because of which I've been hesitant to attempt the actual exam)
What would be the score I need to hit to actually manage ISB?
According to google, I need a 680 to have a good chance. Is this true, or can I manage this with something like a 600 as well (assuming I can get to this score)
Thanks in advance! This is something that has haunted me for a while..
Dear
aperiamsimilique,
One thing that clearly stands out in your profile is your
work experience, as you have not only been leading high impact engagements but also shown
consistent career growth through multiple promotions. This is a strong differentiator that can be highlighted well in your ISB application.
On the academics side, your performance has been about average and your extracurriculars do not stand out in particular, unless you can
showcase how they helped you build certain qualities such as discipline, leadership or consistency. That said, these areas can still be framed meaningfully if articulated well in the application essays.
To make your profile stand out, we highly recommend aiming for a
good GMAT score (675+), as this will place your application in a strong position. I understand that this may seem difficult at the moment, but it is truly worth the effort because it can help you put your
best foot forward. We will be happy to guide you further and also connect you with trainers who have consistently helped candidates achieve high scores.
