Here's my short background:
22, Indian Male;
Graduated in Bachelor of Business Administration (major in finance) from a well known university (not top 10);
Was the Head of a college society.
GPA of 7.7/10 (reason behind low GPA is because I was focused on clearing Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exams and gaining other valuable finance certifications);
Currently have 11 months of work experience in the field Valuation, working for a medium size fast growing financial services firm;
I plan to the GMAT soon, and I aim to score between 710-740;
What chances do I have in the MFA program at LBS, and the Msc Finance & Economics program at Oxford?

neelo29,
Your academic background in Business Administration with a finance major, complemented by your efforts in obtaining finance certifications like the CMA, shows a dedicated focus on finance. Your GPA, though moderate, can be offset by these certifications and your aim for a high GMAT score (710-740).
Professional experience in valuation at a fast-growing firm, though brief, adds to your profile's strength, particularly if you highlight key projects and contributions. Leadership experience as Head of a college society demonstrates your extracurricular engagement.
You also need to add quantifiable results in your profile that can highlight the impact you made during your work experience, extracurricular activities, or maybe projects. Let’s say, you improved a process by 35% that gave a profile 67% or found a bug that was impacting 2000+ users.
For the MFA program at LBS and MSc in Finance & Economics at Oxford, emphasize your finance expertise, professional growth, and leadership skills in your application.
However, admission to these programs is highly competitive. Strengthening your profile with a strong GMAT score, clear articulation of your professional experiences and achievements, and a well-crafted statement of purpose that connects your background with your future goals and the specifics of the program will be crucial.
Consider also seeking professional or academic recommendations that underscore your potential and suitability for these programs.
