ISB and Yale you should be competitive for.
Kellogg and Wharton will be stretches, even with the strongest essays. One thing you do have in your favor is that you're a "hard hat" engineer (i.e. engineer working in an "old school" industry -- steel, construction, mining, petroleum, etc. as opposed to high tech) - and in these industries, you are usually given more leadership/supervisory authority and experience than some engineer working in IT/software. The one concern is your lack of experience or exposure outside of India - there will be greater concerns about whether you can adjust to a western environment compared to many other IT/software Indian engineers who would've already worked in the US/Europe for a number of years already and are familiar with that kind of environment.
As for the lack of experience outside of India, you'll have a very tough time at INSEAD, which puts a big premium on international experience and exposure.
My suggestion would be to apply to ISB and Yale -- and then swap out one of Kellogg or Wharton (choose one), and then apply to two of Michigan, Darden, Duke, Cornell, NYU, Haas or UCLA.
