I would really appreciate if someone can evaluate my profile and advice on what are my chances in Harvard or Stanford.
1. Grew up in India, got undergraduate degree in Computer Science. I graduated with honors and ranked 1st in my class.
2. Master's in Computer Science from US university. 3.85 GPA.
3. Worked for one year in software consulting firm.
4. I have been working for last six years in Microsoft. Currently I am quality assurance manager and manage a very diverse team of 15 people. I believe I can write great things about leadership in my essay. I have been in top 5% in Microsoft.
5. Passionate about investing. Invesment is short of my second job.
5.GMAT 710 (Q:49 V:38)
I will be applying to third round of Harvard and second round of Stanford. Please advice.

Mukesh76,
Your numbers are good and the leadership at Microsoft is also impressive. However, to break into Stanford or HBS--especially in the third round when usually it is only the stars who get in--you will also need that same level of leadership in your community life. Investment as a hobby won't cut it. Your profile also lacks real unusualness, which is another thing HBS and Stanford look for. So my gut sense is that HBS and Stanford will not come through for you based on what you've told me. I recommend you aim lower in the food chain.
