Some of my statistics:
Undergraduate: Bachelors in Computer Science (gpa: We don't have it here in Brazil. How do I convert it? Do I need to convert it?)
Graduate: One year course of Derivatives (finance)
Age: 31 years old.
GMAT: first attemp 570-I am re-taking it next month! Aiming 660
Background:
I have 8 years of experience in IT industry. Currently, I am a technical leader/Software Architect developing risk management systems at my present job at Brazilian Mercantile & Future Stock Exchange. After graduation I worked at USA as a software developer for almost 2 years.
My target schools are MIT, HAAS,Simmon and LBS.
I have a good background in Finance (Derivatives). Because of that I want to switch my career to finance, investment banking or business consulting.
My weakeness is a lack of community activities due to the load of work that IT requires. Also, do you think my age is a problem?
Finally, I want to thank you! Paul, your book "Greate application ..." is awesome. I just bought it and started to read it!! It will save me lots of money! I am gonna comment your book at amazon.com soon.

My apologies for the delayed reply; I've been traveling. Your age is a minor negative at the U.S. schools, but a larger issue will be the GMAT and community involvement. They may keep you out of the running at all of the schools you listed. If by "Simmon" you meant Rochester Simon than you would have a better chance there, but that still would be a little on the longshot side. Your Brazilian background helps you and the extent to which you have leadership responsibilities at work also helps you. But i recommend adding some lower-ranked schools to your list. Maybe consider UNC, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Toronto, and/or IESE.
You don't need to try converting your GPA. They usually have people who do that on staff.
