Paul,
Thanks for your advice. I'll definitely post a book review at amazon.com.
I've been in leadership roles throughout my career. In early years of my career, I led the software development and system engineering teams of anywhere from 5 to 10 members. While supporting sales teams for Latin American markets, on my own initiative, I brought several companies together to jointly develop a $300m proposal to bid for telecom systems. Later at a start-up, I was instrumental in developing the firm's core strategy and hiring key individuals, building service delivery platform, and providing pre-sales and post-sales efforts. I worked as a managing consultant / practice leader for a small, boutique firm. Currently, I'm employed as a program / project manager at a financial institution - I typically manage project teams of anywhere from 10 to 50 individuals.
I hope that my work experience will compensate for lack of leadership outside the work.
Thanks again!
