Male: 32 yrs
Nationality: Indian
GMAT: 670 (will be re-taking in June '10)
Education:
1. Electrical Engineer (Undergraduate)
GPA : 3.3/4
2. MS in Electrical (ASU)
GPA: 3.45/4
Experience: (Product Engineer in a VLSI company)
1. 5 and 2 months as of today with a Fortune 100 Semiconductor company.
2. Currently a Product and Test lead for a multinational team (singapore, US, India) that involves resource planning, interacting with suppliers ASIA (Taiwan, South Korean and Singapore) and successfully releasing the product.
3. Have a one year gap after graduating from my masters due to unforeseen circumstances.
Extra curricular activities:
1. Founder of an social service organization (ASU Chapter)
2. From an 1 member chapter, the organization has currently grown to a strong 20 member group.
3. Active runner and have ran a marathon.
4. Currently involved with the same social service organzation (local chapter) to evaluate projects and organzie fund raising activities to support the projects.
I am targeting NYU, Cornell, UCLA, Virginia and Yale. Please help to evaluate my profile and suggest any improvements required.

Hello,
My first thought is that you're already a bit older than the typical applicant to those schools (they're typically more like 26-28 years old), but because of your graduate work, you actually don't have much more experience than the typical applicant. So, that's good. Waiting any longer may make you "too old," though.
You're right to want to retake the GMAT... Hopefully you can earn a 700+ score and just put that behind you and focus on the rest of your application.
As you probably know, the Indian/IT profile is very common among MBA applicants. Not your fault, of course, but that will require that you stand out vs. other applicants with your 2) on-the-job accomplishments and leadership experiences, 2) community involvement (which you seem to have), and 3) post-MBA career goals.
