Hi can you please evaluate my profile and let me know what's your take on this? thanks in advance
Male, 30 years, B.E (equivalent to B.S. in US) in Mechanical Engg. from India, worked for 8 months in India after undergrad.
First Class throughout with Distinction merit in final year.
M.S. Mechanical Engg (3.9 GPA) from US university, Earned financial scholarship
GMAT: 690 (expected better score based on practice tests)
Essays: 5.5
Working for last 5 years in a multinational company develops realistic mechanics simulation software products and provides pre and post-sales support, training, and consulting. (wide industry coverage--electronics, auto, aero, consumer goods, petrochemical, medical devices, Energy etc.)
Reason for listing customers in various industries is the varied gamut of exposure to the different industries through simulations of their products
My role falls under providing pre- and post-sales engg. support, training, and technical consulting
Progressed from initial general support role to more specialized, advanced engg support role. Lateral move instead of vertical--change of roles to expand the horizon of experience, gamut of knowledge, adding more value to myself and to the organization at large.
Primary developer in a challenging project with special recognition from senior management.
Leadership skills:
Undergraduate college:
1) Student President of a Annual College Magazine committee. Among the significant achievements, include collecting record-breaking funds in the history of my college magazine, dramatic improvement in the quality and outlook of the magazine, introduction of innovative sections, and raising the overall quality standard
2) Participation of quality circles to address and resolve college issues affecting students
3) Active participation in drama competition and sport activities like cricket
Graduate school:
1) Active participation in graduate student government and in the second term awarded with outstanding senator award.
2) Active member of cultural organization that arranges musical concerts on campus for awareness Indian classical music
3) Active participation in charity organization (AID)
Outside school:
1) Arranged concert programs, as I'm a student of Indian classical music
2) Active participation in community work
Other skills demonstrated:
Great analytical skills, quantitative and math skills, excellent communication and presentation skills, interested in advising and consulting people on issues of interest--also demonstrated at work.
Can read, speak, and write 4 languages including English
Dream schools: Tuck, Duke, Kelloggs
Sweet schools: Darden, UNC, Ross
Safety: Carnegie Mellon
Desired focus area: consulting/general management
Will select 4-5 from these.
