Work Experience-3 Years at Forensics division at Ernst & Young. Strong expertise in Corporate Intelligence Engagements (a relatively new field) and strategic research engagements involving appraisals of investment targets for private equity players and institutional investors from a non financial standpoint. I have also been involved in engagements involving employee security reviews, fraud investigations, special reviews etc.
Have got good appraisal ratings and a promotion during my tenure with the firm.
Extracurricular Activities/Leadership Experience- Founder of Consulting Network, a non profit integrated knowledge and networking portal for consultants, have over 1500 registered members, managed to build the entire portal from scratch and have managed to forge partnerships with some of the leading business schools in India as the social media partner for the events conducted by them. Also conceptualized a job portal and a mentorship program to help aspiring consultants (

- Volunteered for Teach India initiative, a 3 month initiative to teach underprivileged children, continued teaching for another year at the school after completion of the initiative.
- Ran a half marathon and planning to run another one before the application process.
Weakness in the Application- My work does not involve international travel. So international experience is negligible.
- A slightly below average GMAT score for top schools
Post MBA
- Shift towards strategy consulting
Target Schools
- Top 8 MBA programs in the US (Harvard being my first choice)
- ISB in India is also on the radar.
Your suggestions will be highly valued.
. Your score is a significant hurdle for you in applying to
. It also could be a negative factor in post-MBA employment when many strat consulting firms want to see a 700+ GMAT.
The international experience would be nice and strengthen your application, but it is not something all applicants have. Your work experience is competitive and your extra-curriculars are strong.
