I'm planning to stick with management consulting, but want to leverage the MBA into a more strategy-based prestigious firm. I don't have a deep quant skillset (which is reflected in my GMAT score) but would like to get this piece of the puzzle. I just don't know whether I should flat out say to these schools that I want that b/c I don't have it or act as if I do. It's kind of a catch 22 b/c they are the best schools but you have to already be good at it.
Consider also programs like
Darden,
Duke,
Cornell,
Ross. They feed into the strat firms and are just a little easier to get into than Wharton, Kellogg et.al.
To improve your chances and show that you are working to improve your quant skills in preparation for b-school. Perhaps retake calc or statistics for business. A's in those classes could reassure someone skittish about your quant skills.
Best,
Linda
