Hi,
Please review my profile for LBS
Gender - Female
Nationality - Indian
Work Experience - 4+ years( Would be 5+ by the time I will join the school)
- Hewlett Packard Enterprise (3+ years) : My responsibilities included developing application, managing development team, requirement gathering
- Tech Mahindra(Indian company)(1+ years) : My responsibilities include development of application, managing team, customer relationship, user experience
I have worked in cross cultural and global environment.
GMAT score - 700(Q49V36)
Extra curricular -
1. President of dramatics club - Won prizes and performed nukkad nataks in villages to create social awareness
2. Teacher at school for unprivileged students for 6 years - In school and college

A few thoughts on your profile evaluation paridhiprasad:
  1. You've not mentioned anything about your academic pedigree - what kind of college, degree, GPA etc. The profile evaluation will be incomplete without it and it's a pretty important determinant of your prospects. From a GMAT perspective, you may be aware that one can easily add 20-30 points to a given school's average to get a sense of the Indian GMAT average. Broadly speaking, your score will be on the lower end for a school like LBS.
  2. While you've worked in an MNC, not sure if you have had international experience? European schools value international experience for your MBA prospects. So, think of how you'll pitch your experience in these lines.
  3. The professional experience and more importantly, your achievements/impact is not very clear. It will be important to also understand if you've had career acceleration and how you've differentiated yourself at a place like HP.
  4. The ECs arc is decent from a school/college perspective. However, schools look for continuity and it's a common blind spot for Indian candidates. See here why schools care for extracurricular in your application.
  5. Finally, it is always a good idea to think of applying to a range of schools and not just one to broad base your chances and hedge your risks.

Hope this helps some.

Cheers,

That's an ok from a pedigree and performance perspective. A higher score will certainly help - any plans for a retake?

If the Nukkad bit was after college, that's good - make sure to use that well and think about how you will bring out the impact factor.

Nationality: Pakistani

Please advise my suitability for the above programs. How much time i should allocate to write my LBS essays. is it 1 week, 1 month?

Thanks in advance

Hey there!

Your work experience seems interesting - did you start your own company from scratch? Revenue + ramp up here will be important, especially if you were able to support a team of 10 employees.

I'd like to see a GMAT above 700 here...given that a lot more international applicants will be eschewing US schools for European and Asian MBAs the competition may be a bit higher. I'd give yourself a 2-3 weeks to write the essays, a week is certainly not enough time and a month could be overkill, but again, that's a personal preference.

Regards,
Scott
