Dear Paul
Reading your feed back on the profiles is really helpful for the MBA aspirants like me.
I would like to get a feed back on my profile and would appreciate your suggestion for improving my profile.
What are my chances for getting admission to MBA programmes of
Insead, Judge, Said, Imperial, Cranfield, Nanyang, Manchester, Bath University.
I am interested in one year program only.
My profile is :
30 year old Indian Male. I will have 6 years of experience by the time i join a programme in aug. 2008, mostly in quality control/manufacturing side.
Double bachelor in Chemistry and Rubber Technology-(Second degree is a post-degree degree programme). B.Tech from Cochin University (one of the good universities in India - but not very good). Consistantly good academic performance above 70%. All the time one among the first 5. I got a scholarship for B.Tech and got few prizes for seminar presentations.
My GMAT is 670 (48Q, 33V) AWA 4.5.
TOEFL 106.
I am planning to take GMAT again and expecting a score of 720-740.
5 years of work experience. out of this 3 years as Quality control engineer in Middle east. Leading a team of 8 people, I looked after the quality control functions of a Small Rubber factory (200 people strength). i have been selected for teams such as product development team, productivity improvement team etc. I got promoted on completion of one year. Now i have resigned from that job and looking for a managerial post in india itself and i am almost through with that.
Tutoring from my graduate days. Before, I have not associated with any charity organisation, but currently i have associated with a charitable society, which is giving education to mentally challenged children. Personally, I have been doing charity & social work. Being from a rural village area, i am doing my best to give career guidance to the young generation.
I used to play cricket and Table Tennis, eventhough i have not played any tournaments. For one year i was practicing karate also. I have done my best to start a local sports club. But i have not taken any official positions in that club. I am very much interested in Computers both hardware and software, but i have no formal education in these fileds. I was selected as group captain for cultural activities on annual day.
My goal is to be an enterpreneur. Before starting up, i want to get a real taste of business. Since i am from a tech background,i need a formal MBA degree to switch over to buisiness.
whether i have to show any proof to the adcomm officials to prove my extracurricular activities?
I need to get scholarship for my MBA. What is the foremost criteria for the scholarship? GMAT only??
Thanking you very much in advance.
