Would it be worthwhile for me retake GMAT and try to increase my score(my practice test scores were above 750, but unfortunately, was sick during test day)?
Since you are still young, yes, I do believe it is worthwhile for you to retake the GMAT and earn the score that you deserve. I also think it makes sense for you to wait a couple of years to apply since you are below the average age and do not seem to have had the opportunity to lead large-scale projects. It is going to be very difficult to differentiate yourself from the myriad other engineers responsible for "a particular module," so during this time I also recommend finding ways to shape the way the company operates, its culture, and influence in addition to continuing to lead ever-larger efforts in the community as well.
