Hi, Can you please evaluate my profile? I'm looking at the following schools: Stanford, Harvard, Wharton, Chicago, Columbia.

-25 years old, US citizen, Asian but not Chinese/Korean/Japanese
-Grew up sparingly in a mostly hispanic/low-income community (first one to ever get into an Ivy from my high school)
-760-780 GMAT (95%+ on both sections)
-3.5-3.6 GPA in a hard science from non-HYP Ivy

4 years of work exp at matriculation:
-2 years at top non-MBB consulting firm (top 10-15 feeder at Harvard and Wharton)
-Prior to that, 2 years at very small consulting firm where I got some rapidly increasing responsibilities by dint of it being so small. I established many processes at that company that they still use today. My recommendations can confirm this.

EC’s: In college, senior editor of new publication (led recruiting process for my section of the journal). Post-college, tutor reading/English to an African immigrant, also do volunteer mentoring for immigrants seeking jobs.

My goal is to gain management and finance experience so that I can to enter the financial services industry and do internal strategy.

Hi hello212,

Thanks for posting. You have a very strong application. I worry only about your leadership experience and how your application will stand out in a very competitive candidate pool. With regards to leadership, Harvard Business School in particular will focus on this. I recommend you read this case study of a candidate who was accepted into Harvard Business School and the Stanford GSB: ... ies/case4/

I also recommend you focus your time now on your personal essays and letters of recommendations. This is where you will be able to separate your application from the crowd. If you're interested in a free 30 minute consultation, you can sign up here:

Hope this is of help.
