1) Brief description of your full-time work experience. What do you do?
-Enlisted Soldier in the US Army (Biological Science Specialist);
Work at one of the research institutes of the Army; currently, in charge of a section of the clinical laboratory (joined right after college, serving 4 years)
2) Your GMAT.
-710 (40v, 47q, 5 awa)
3) College info:
*University of Washington - Seattle; Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science; 3.35 Cum (3.75 last two year), Graduated in 2011
Basically, my transcript shows that I did not care much about education during first two years, and that's exactly what it was. I can explain what has motivated me to change this behavior.
*The George Washington University; Certificate in Clinical Health Science; 60 credits -3.85 cum (This was part of the training in the Army. Apart from being a Soldier, I was trained for my job by the GWU military contract program)
4) Significant college and post-college extra-curricular activities or community service, especially leadership experience.
-Led one of the student campaigns- the environment related
-Church activities
-Choir activities
5) Important certifications like CFA, CPA, FSA, or CA.
Not related to finance, but ASCP Medical Laboratory Technician certification
6) Your target programs. Please note that my experience is with the top MBA programs (FT, PT, EMBA, Sloan Fellows) around the world. If the programs you are targeting are not listed here, I may not respond due to lack of time.
-Duke FT MBA in Healthcare Management
-Cornell Dual MBA/MHA
-Northwestern FT MBA in Healthcare Management
-Emory FT MBA in Healthcare Management
-Rice FT MBA in Healthcare Management
7) When you plan to apply? Please specify round and application cycle, for example R1 2013-14 or R3 2012-13.
R1 2015-2016
8) Your post-MBA goal.
My post MBA goal is to become a Healthcare Administrator in the Navy, specializing in Finance Management, and serve until I retire. In order to become one, the Navy requires that I get an MHA or MBA in Healthcare Management. Also, I will apply for the Navy's Health Services Collegiate Program which would put me as an enlisted status while in school.
I am also bilingual and English is my second language.

Hey there,
Thanks for posting! You've got some great academics between your GMAT and your overall GPA. It's ok that you didn't do too hot for the first year or two. You're not the first and you won't be the last. The GWU component helps that as well so, overall, I think you're in a good spot academically. Your experiences sound great and all in the field you want to stay in. When it comes to military applicants, this is REALLY rare so a great card to hold in your hand. One thing that confuses me is you say you're enlisted in the Army. Just wanted to make sure you meant what you wrote in that you are not an officer despite having your degree? To round it all off, you're fairly involved for being in the services so that's a really nice touch and rounds you out pretty well.
The schools you've chosen create a good and it's diversified which I'm a huge fan of. You have some stretches in there as well as some safeties. There are two schools you've left off that I think you should look to. Wharton and UNC Kenan-Flagler. Both have great Healthcare programs!
Overall, I think you've got a great story, most of the pieces to the puzzle, and a diversified but challenging list of programs. Good job! Yes, I meant that I am an enlisted Soldier, not an officer because I was not a US citizen at the time I joined. I got naturalized after the basic training, and I wonder if this makes me not competitive compared to other military applicants to the top programs who most likely are all officers.
