26 years old American Male
GMAT:
660 Q48, V34
Undergrad:
University of San Diego - BS/BA Industrial and Systems Engineering
- GPA: 3.46/4.0
Work Experience:
- 4.5 years as military officer. Work in Supply Chain Management/Logistics, Finance, and Contracting. Have led over 20 people to provide logistics and financial support to operations in 25 different countries. Written multiple government contracts to support operations.
- Prior to military, worked in Operations Management.
Extracurricular:
- Run Marathons
Certifications:
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt (Working on Green)
MBA focus:
- Corporate Finance or Operations/Supply Chain Management
Post-MBA goal:
- Finance or Operations in the Energy Sector

Your profile is strong sense military applicants fit exactly what b-schools look for in the areas of management and leadership. GMAT, while not above the average at some of your targets, will be well within the 80 percent range (and frankly, they are more forgiving of military applicants on GMAT since they know the job is busy and not conducive to spending tons of time studying). The fact you are targeting a similar area post MBA as your military experience has given you will help the adcoms swallow your transition. Undoubtedly the military ranks among the world's best preparation for logistics, which will be attractive to recruiters. Being highly employable on the backend of an MBA is attractive to b-schools. We have much experience getting students into your target schools, so let us know if you need guidance. Certainly specific consulting help on Stanford and Haas would likely pay off.
