Hi everyone, I'm looking to apply to a full time MBA program; honest advice appreciated!

About me: female, 35 years, Pakistani
Education & GPA: 3 year BBA and 1 year MBA from Pakistan, GPA 3.76 AND 3.57 respectively (Graduated at 3rd position in BBA)
Work EX: 11 years in banking, with 3 in UAE (CURRENT)
GMAT: 700 Extracurriculars: not too strong, white belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Target schools: full time MBA at Rotman, Queen's and Ivey (I am unable to identify which, if any US schools make sense for me given my profile in terms of age plus having one MBA degree already - advice needed here too!!)
Why 2nd MBA: first MBA was with zero work ex, and now that i am in middle management, I want to acquire a broader set of skills in strategic thinking and management

Target after MBA: same industry, same function, change of geography from UAE to Canada (or US)

Hi there,

The schools you're targeting make sense, but your challenge at this stage is your age. Having an MBA already will raise questions, so you'll need to craft a story that truly demonstrates your needs in order to achieve your goals. Your target is seems to be driven by geography. Is there anything else driving your decision?

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I'm keen to work in Canada/America, and interested in an MBA from one of the Schools there since they have most of the league topping B schools.

Hi there,

Thanks for the additional information. Have you considered part-time MBA programs or Executive MBA programs? Given that you're not looking for a career switch, but rather advancement within your organization or industry, this may be another option that gives you a great chance at achieving your goals.
