Hi there,
Awesome career to date! Sounds like you will have amazing leadership stories in a very cool industry! You'll clearly add a lot of value to classroom discussion because your industry is highly interesting and relevant across the board. Anyway, so that's a great asset that you should leverage (through focusing a lot of time on your essays and ensuring you get full credit for this aspect of your app). Just one note - ensure that someone outside of your industry reads your essays too. In my experience, candidates from the energy sector (or any highly-complex sector) tend to not realize how much jargon they use on a daily basis (we all do it - just make sure it isn't in your application because you never know whether your reader will understand).
Your undergrad GPA is a little low, but you make up for that with the work you were doing in school (you'll need to clarify in an optional essay) as well as the masters degree. It wouldn't hurt to take an online course and get an "A" just to go the extra mile too. The adcom looks at GPA / GMAT as a proxy for whether you can handle the coursework.
As for your target schools, you probably know that for FT programs you are at the upper end of the experience range. If I understand correctly, you also served in the military, and in my experience successful candidates at the upper end of the experience range tend to either have another masters degree or have served in the armed forces. It looks like maybe you did both? So, just make sure that's very clear to the adcom (through resume and essays). In addition, as a more experienced candidate they'll expect you to be more clear on your goals. Be sure to articulate what you want to do, why and very specifically why you need an MBA at this point (because they will wonder why you aren't considering programs other than FT at this point).
Otherwise, I think you have a really competitive profile and again, I can only imagine the great stories you'll have for essays! We offer a free consult if you have any questions about this and wanted to chat more. Hope this helps!
Kindly,
Meredith
