Hello StratusMBACounselor! I want to apply to MBA next year (and actually start the MBA in 2018) and would highly appreciate an honest review of my profile. Suggestions on a global application strategy are also welcome!

Long-term career goal (more than 5 years post MBA): manager/director at an Energy or Technology company
Target schools: INSEAD, MIT Sloan, Rotman (special interest in living in Canada post-MBA), IE
I think you have a great school list- I am working right now with a client on Rotman and I am really impressed by the program- some really unique hands-on learning experiences. I encourage you to do some research now- even going to visit the school and learning how you can add value- so that when you do apply you have this well thought out. I also like INSEAD. MIT Sloan is just tough because the odds are low- but I really like your profile for them- you are coming from a geographic that is not over-represented and you have impressive stats and you have good work experience- MIT will want to know more about WHAT you have done... so don't leave that out when applying- and show them some love too- MIT wants to know you want them and ONLY them... so go visit.... talk to students there... I think some of the programs in US close to energy in Texas- like Texas or Rice might also be interesting to throw in the mix...
We'd love to help you get ready this year in a pre-professional program- where we can assess you in all areas the year before applying so you are FULLY Strong in all areas by the time you apply... To learn more- look at this link to talk to us about it...
