I had quit to move on to a more challenging role. I moved back to the UAE but have been unfortunate in job search. So, I have been learning music and language (french) to better myself. I also do teach french and keyboard for a few neighborhood kids. I have also volunteered for a short time at a school for children with special needs. I am not sure if these will help my application in any way.
I understand my profile is not really great because of my really low GMAT score ( I have probably reached threshold) and the really long gap.
I would like to know the range of schools that I can target. For now, I have Rotman, Queen's, Ross, Schulich, Tepper and Fuqua.
First of all, I am not sure WHAT you want to do post MBA and that is important in school selection.
And another thing to consider is that you might look at the GRE if you want to see if you can score better on that test as it could broaden your options. Rotman, Queens and Schulich are all great programs and they could be great for you DEPENDING on what you want to do. without a stronger GMAT Fuqua and Tepper might be difficult- but again if you have some compelling reasons why those schools help you reach your goals you might be able to overcome the numbers. Fuqua looks very holistically at appplicants meaning that if you have something compelling in your profile you could defy the odds. I bet there is something compelling- but you need to call it out. So I encourage you to reframe this not as "where do I have a shot" but rather "what school helps me best reach my post MBA goals and how can I add value to that school?" and if you do some exceptional introspection and research there- you WILL stand out and perhaps have the success you seek. Good luck to you!
Thanks a ton!!
