First post here. I would like to request an honest evaluation and would appreciate any help.
Current age 25, Male, Bangladeshi citizen but settled and working in London
Planning to take GRE (note, not GMAT as I am also applying to some Msc programmes with a GRE requirement) early 2018 - fairly confident of a competent score. Also considering doing GMAT if I get time.
Academics:
First Class honours from the London School of Economics, graduated 2013
Major: Economics
Also a fully qualified Chartered Accountant (strong elements of accounting and corporate finance)
Professional Experience:
Started graduate programme in Big 4 within the Derivative Valuations team in London for Financial Audit - main client was a major UK retail bank. Conducted analytical work, eventually leading a significant work stream. Also worked with a software developer to implement an in house valuation tool for a major client.
After 1 year 10 months moved into the Economic Consulting team in a medium sized consulting firm (not as well known as say Big 4 but a very high performing team). Worked with high profile clients including Royal Mail, a global telecoms operator on a range of consulting projects (investment analysis, business case development, advisory on developing efficiency KPIs etc). Outputs included a number of company branded technical reports for clients, as well as bespoke financial models.
Also recently completed a secondment with our corporate finance team, working with the the government health service - the NHS across hospitals, commissioning bodies etc on a range of cost cutting, contract evaluation and other cases (can send CV privately).
Also have an internship in M&A at Citi (London) while at university.
Extra-Curriculars:
-At uni- president of Bangladesh society, runner up in Morgan Stanley Community Impact Challenge (part of team LSE), International officer in student halls etc.
-Big 4 firm: ran a number of accountacy study sessions at
-current employer: Recruitment planning and interviews, co-authored thought pieces with a Managing Director (on mail industry, healthcare and e-commerce) campus case study sessions.
-Anything else I could do in the coming year?
Academic and professional achievements
-Examiners prize for first year exams from LSE
-Second ranking graduate trainee at big 4 at the end of first year
-High school awards for academic performance
I'm interested in the following full-time programs:
-HBS
-Booth
-INSEAD (January)
-Kellog (2 year)
-London Business School (already was offered place in their finance programme for this year, but turned it down)
Realise these could be a stretch so would also appreciate advice on which schools would be a better fit with my profile.
Career goal
Strategy consulting with MBB, potentially but not set in stone. Also want to expand network and explore my options, refresh my thinking on my career quite generally, hence I would like a two year programme (Jan for INSEAD - so I can do an internship during summer).
Additionally, any pointers on what I can do what work to have a stronger profile prior to application over the coming year would be helpful.
Potentially applying for Fall 2019 admission.
