Hi
throw123,
Thank you for reaching out and for sharing your profile. You have strong work experience GMAT and extracurricular. I like that you are a CFA charter holder and that you are teaching the less fortunate about finances (a vital contribution). From a macro-perspective, an area I think you need to address in your application is your GPA. Are you willing/have time to take courses to demonstrate your academic strengths? If so, look at programs like HBX CORe, which is a certificate program intended to prepare those who are applying to MBA programs (you might still be able to complete this certificate this year and apply for the 2019 intake). As to your question on where you fall on the applicant pool, you will most likely be considered a domestic applicant due to your US citizenship, but I recommend you check each school's policies.
If you are interested in continuing this conversation, I recommend you reach out and coordinate a free consultation (contact details in signature).
Good luck!
