I am D Hari Kishore, 30 years Male from India.

GMAT score: 720 (Quant: 48, Verbal:40)

Academics:
10th: 85%
12th: 94%
Graduation: BE (E.E.E) from GITAM College, Andhra University with 8.39 CGPA (81%)

Work Experience:
Automatic Data Processing (ADP) India Pvt Ltd: As Member Technical from May'2008 to July'2010.
* Worked as Quality Assurance Engineer for the programs dealt with the American Tax Filing System like SIT, SUI, Federal Income Tax etc. Developed and automated some of the processes to deal with the huge data and reduced process time significantly by atleast 80%.
*Received best employee of month for atleast 12 times and was part of a Value Addition Services Group.

After couple of years of work in Software, I tried to an oppurtunity to work in Core Sector (Electrical) and secured Executive Trainee posts in all the prominent Central Public Sector Enterprises like BSNL, BHEL, NTPC and POWERGRID. I have chosen POWERGRID as it deals with Transmission of Power at levels 765KV involving some serious Electrical Engineering expertise.

POWERGRID Corporation of India Ltd: A Government of India Enterprise under Union Ministry of Power: From July'2010 to Till Date:
Joined as Executive Trainee and promoted twice since and currently holds Deputy Manager Cadre.
● Powergrid Corporation of India Ltd. Is Central Transmission Utility of India which maintains one of the World’s largest Power Grids. It constructs and maintains Transmission Lines and Sub Stations up to 765KV HVAC level and + 800KV HVDC level.
● Worked in various areas of the Corporation as follows:
○ July’2011 to March’2013: Construction Manager of 400 KV Transmission line from Gooty-Nellore: I have been the section in charge for 100 KMs of Transmission line construction costing nearly Rs 250 Crores ($ 38.46 Million). I am responsible for the planning, execution, quality and completion of the project which was successfully done by March 2013.
○ March’2013 to Dec’2013: Construction of Raichur – Solapur 765KV Transmission Line: I have been section in charge for 70KMs of line having the same responsibilities as above. The commissioning of this line resulted in formation of ONE NATION – ONE GRID – ONE FREQUENCY in India.
○ Jan’2014 – March’2015: Construction Manager of Vijayawada – Nellore 400 KV line: I have been in charge for 35 KM section of transmission line which was falling under urban area. The line stalled for some tine due to severe resistance from farmer associations. I was assigned responsibility to address the issues and with effective coordination with Farmers, District Administration and Political leaders, the line was successfully commissioned in 2015.
○ April’2015 – Sept’2017: Special Technical Assistant (STA) to Executive Director of Southern Region Transmission System-I: Based on the performance in my previous assignments, I was one of the youngest engineers to be nominated to the post STA. I was responsible to provide timely MIS (Management Information) on various departments to ED/SRTS-I to take timely and informed management decisions. Here I had firsthand experience on the working of various department of an organization like Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Human Resource, Grid Operations, Material Management, Procurement Department, Consultancy department, Vigilance and Quality Assurance Department etc.
○ Oct’2017 – Present: Construction Manager of 765KV /400 KV Chilakaluripeta Sub Station: Assigned with Construction Works of Sub Station with the project value of nearly 500 Crores. I am responsible for the planning, execution, quality and completion of the project.

During the above time, I was always preparing for the Civil Services Examination which is the toughest competitive exam in the world and written Mains 4 times. By virtue of this preparation, I got overall idea of Economics,World Trade, Public Administration, Organization Management, Politics, International affairs, Society, Indian and World History, Indian and World Geography etc. Unfortunately I could not clear the exam for final selection.

Leadership and Other skills
•Have been Class Monitor from 3rd Grade to 10th Grade
•Class Representative in Bachelors
•Captain of Cricket Team of EEE Dept in Bachelors.
•Captain of Badminton Team of Southern Region of POWERGRID
•Plays Cricket, Badminton, XBOX and Table Tennis

Now I would like to pursue MBA in USA in one of the Top Twenty Schools for below reasons:
* To get the full fledged Management Skills to become an Entrepreneur. I hail from East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh State which is famous for agricultural and pisiculture prosperity. I would like to start food processing and export industry.
* To get exposed to American Education System which known to instill innovative thinking and looking things differently.
* To get in depth exposure to how International Business is conducted.

I request you to please suggest the Probable Best schools I can get. I am looking for:
* Wharton
*Kellog
*Cornell
*Booth School

Hi @dangetih, thanks for reaching out. My comments below... First- the GMAT at 720 is light for India- sorry to say-
but still with strong other parts could potentially be effective for you.

First- if you are looking at these schools for this year- you are really too late as R2 deadlines are pretty much this week- so the extra year gives you time to work on GMAT- I suggest you try to get to 740+ which is possible with more time to prepare.
You are nearing the latter part of the "sweet spot" for full time MBA so start now building a solid plan to approach R1 fall 2018.
