Hello
sajalgargciv2805,
Thanks for writing in.
The IIT background sounds solid; however, your GMAT score is just about average considering you belong to an over-represented pool of Indian applicants (most of them have a score upwards of 740). Thus, if you are looking for programs in the league of Tepper, you definitely need to retake the GMAT.
The essays will be particularly important in your case as you need to present your professional experience in an impactful way. Think about your profile from a leadership angle, as well. Further, since the extra-curricular activities are not stellar, please identify the ways in which you can build your profile in the next few months (joining a Toastmasters Club is one such way as it will give you both leadership and public speaking experience). The gap in your profile will need to be addressed in the Optional Essay; please state the facts as they are and keep the account brief yet crisp (that way it will not sound like an excuse).
Should you have any follow up questions, please feel free to write to us.
All the best!
