Question

Hi,
I am Piyush Gautam from India. I gave my gmat in August,2021 and scored Total: 680 / 81% (Verbal: 34 / 70% Quantitative: 49 / 74% AWA: 81% 4.0 / 18% IR:3 / 18%).
Please guide me :
1. What are the chances for my selection the schools I have mentioned below?
2. Which schools do you recommend should I apply to ( which may not be mentioned below) ?

I want to apply to following colleges for full time MBA:

My resume:

Career Goal: Product Manangement in Technology sector post MBA.

Education: I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering in 2014. I scored 72% in B.Tech. In college I got National Cadet Corps - B Certificate, 2012 by V.K. Jaswal, Brigadier, Indian Army and I also led my team of arts which made paintings for Indian replublic day.
In high school and inter school I consistently managed to get top 5% class score of 90+ in Mathematics which included statistics and calculus also.

Work Exp:
1. Divisional Accountant at Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Government of India from April-2017 – Aug-2020. Role : To verify the expenses and transactions incurred on projects, Balance Sheet, monetary bills of State Public Works Department including financial planning and wealth management .
I passed the Divisional Accountant Grade examination during job which included accounting and finance.
Acheivement: 
1. During election duty I was posted as Assistant Expenditure Observer and was incharge of whole Morena, Madhya Pradesh District and coordinated with Sub-Divisional Megistrate (S.D.M.) and looked after the management of rally of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh visiting Morena District.
2. I dealt with Members of Legislative Assembly of Madhya Pradesh when they came with certain bills and contracts of construction projects to be started in the district.
3. I led my staff of 40 employees and managed finance, budgets and accounts of 400 crore annual budget of public work department of Morena district area.
2. Tax Assistant at Income Tax Department, Government of India from Nov-2020 – Currently working. Role: Assessment of the income tax of an individual or a partnership firm or a company, Accompany the RAID team, Resolution of Public Grievances. 
Acheivement: I reopened 12,000 cases in 4 months due to a Supreme Court Order and these coordinated with Income tax officer to submit reports to Principle Chief Commissioner of Income tax. In this process I led my team of 10 employees.

Extracurricular: I am awarded Meisner Technique in Acting Certificate, 2021 by Director of Indriyaan Theatre Group, Mumbai. I did 6 weeks Intensive workshop from November - December, 2020. I led my performance group of 5 artists and gave an acting performance in the theatre in front of huge crowd. I am also trained in Indian Classical Music and Singing.

Your GMAT score is good! Universities take a holistic review of your profile though! I would like to say that if you are aiming for these schools then you should apply by Round-1 deadline which is usually in the month of Septemeber or October for these universities. Also, ensure you have prepared a well documented/reviewed essays for applicaiton. Apart from the CGPA and GMAT scores, Essays play a major role in admission and many students miss out on this aspect.

GMAT: Just hitting the mean for some of the schools you have mentioned and below the mean for most of the schools from your list.

Academics: Average; no major spikes observed in academic.

Work Experience: This is by far the most impressive aspect of your application. However, most of your experience is in the public sector and that too localized to Indian context. Admission committed would be interested to understand what sort of transferrable skillsets would you leverage from your current experience in the future in global context. You will also have to demonstrate micro and macro impact of your work on the Indian Revenue system and the challenges you overcame to bring the impact.
I also observed that there is a experience gap of 3 years in your profile. I am assuming your were preparing for the Civil Services or some other administrative exams during this time. This will be a tricky topic and you will need to justify well in the essays / CV so that the ad com doesn’t get confused.

Extracurricular: It will be interesting to know whether your arts and cultural pursuits were limited to a specific time period in your life or do you still actively practice it. Recency and frequency are important aspects that determine your passion.

Goals: Management roles in Technology Sector is very abstract statement. Are you hinting at IT Project Management, or Technology Consulting, or, Product Management or some other role. Note that each of these roles are unique in themselves and hence you will have to demonstrate how your past experience clubbed with the learning from MBA will help you get there. Also, don’t mention multiple short term goals but narrow it down to one.

While you did a good job of broadly shortlisting the target schools given your GMAT (which is average) and slightly unique work profile, your Post MBA ambitions appear to be somewhat disconnected at the present. You may not obtain the desired result in the highly competitive R2 unless you conduct extensive introspection on why product management (and what specifically in product?) is the best next step after an MBA and are equally capable of convincing the adcom.

At the moment, setting up your goal narrative correctly should be your priority.
