Thanks for the additional information! We're glad you're retaking the GMAT - that's a good move. Unless your studying is going to keep you so busy you can't work on any applications, we'd suggest you hit at least a few R1 deadlines. R2 isn't a huge tradeoff for you given you're from Australia and a diversity candidate. In terms of schools, even with a slightly higher score, those schools you've shortlisted are competitive. We're not saying those are unrealistic but not exactly shoe-ins, y'know? What's your Plan B? What if you don't get in? That's something you need to have an answer for.

Thanks for the advice.
I will begin to look at R1 applications.

I have the following schools in mind that I want to apply to:

Reach: Stern, Kellogg, Booth
Target: Fuqua, Johnson, Anderson, Tuck
Safety: Melbourne Business School, AGSM
I understand the "target" schools are still a bit of a reach but given the cost of studying overseas I believe if I don't get into schools around this range then it would be more worthwhile to study in Australia at MBS or AGSM.

They are definitely expensive - no doubt about that. Best of luck!
