International student from India
undergrad percentage:75% (GPA 3.5-4), Bachelor of Engg (computer science)
GMAT-640, Q-47, V-31
AWA-5.5
Work experience-9 years as software professional (with US based MNC)
Have filed a Patent to US PTO.
Gender-female (does this matter?)

Extra curricular:

1. In academics
Organizer of National Symposium (for two consecutive years)
Basketball player, hockey player, script, direction and acting in a play on state Radio

2. In profession
Active Participation in dance performances for 4 years
Won 1st prize in photography competition
Won 2nd prize in poetry competition
Learned contemporary dance
Various professional awards.
Did community service for two years. Project lead for educating primary school children.
Member of book reader club.

Dream school: HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Yale
Also interested:
Haas, MIT

Is the GMAT score good enough? With this score does it make sense to apply?

I'm sorry it has taken us so long to respond. We've been busy.

To answer your questions, I don't think a 640 is a competitive GMATscore for these schools. I recommend that you either change your target schools or retake the GMAT aiming for a 700+ score. Even then realize, that the GMAT is one element in an application evaluation, and at these elite programs it will take guarantee your acceptance.
