I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing to have a family business as a career goal. Make sure you were specific enough and framed it from the skill development angle of growing it or taking it to the next level. You really want to make sure this aspect drips passion. If you want to take the business from local to regional or regional to national or global the schools generally like to see things like that.

For most re-applicants they will ask you what has changed so if you do decide to change your career goals you will have a chance to explain this. The question marks will arise if the rationale does not make sense not that you changed it.
