Question

Hi Everyone,

I belong to the extra competitive pool of Indians, but thankfully I am not an Engineer.

Here's a bit on my profile

0. Gmat 720 (Q49, V39)
1. Work ex of 3 years as of now, in I-Banking research with a very reknowned MNC.
2. Good career progression.
3. Bachelor's in Economics, with average grades.

I want to pursue a career in M&A (I-Banking).

Could anyone advice on colleges I should be applying to?

Hey there, As you are aware about the competition and also as mentioned you have average grades in your graduation, I would suggest you to consider reatking GMAT if and only if you can add 20-30 points in a minimum case. You need to retake the GMAT - there is still time to improve that.

Beyond that, school selection will come down to more specifics of your profile. Poor grades can be a roadblock with some schools, less than average experience can be another one.

Thanks for posting. So even though you are not an engineer, your demographic is still super-competitive. If you want to crack a top US b-school, I'd like to see 750+. Also, there's a lot we don't know about you. University quality, GPA, extracurriculars. All of that needs to be stellar to make this happen. (When you say "average grades," I get a little worried.) Try the GMAT again and put together a really broad b-school strategy for yourself. Do some reach schools and then make sure you have some safeties in there as well, where your GMAT is 40+ points over a school's average.
