Hello,
I would appreciate if you can please help me with my profile evaluation:
Background Details: India, 30yrs, Male
Bachelors: India, IIT (Materials Engg), good gpa and extra-curriculars
Masters: US, good GPA
GMAT: 740
Job Description: Engineering, Hi-Tech (non-managerial) 5+ yrs of job experience. Highly technical work without any interaction with marketing, strategy or business side of things.
Additional Exp: 6 months of internship in an international VC firm, working on a $50million clean tech fund.
Target Schools for R1: MIT, Wharton, Booth, Stanford
Target Schools for R2: Michigan, UCLA Anderson,
Post MBA goal: Work in the clean tech or hi-tech sector in a VC firm.
(I was on the waitlist for MIT and Wharton, having applied in R2 last year but got dinged at both the schools. Got rejected by Stanford and Kellogg without interviews last year. My focus last year was entrepreneurship as I though I can leverage my technical background)
Please advise what should I do.

My hunch is that you'll probably get into your R2 schools, and you'd be lucky to get into one of your R1 schools.
You can't change who you are overnight, so from a practical standpoint it's about doing the best you can on the applications.
