Extracurriculars-designed a dress form trash and walked a ramp in college fashion show, love reading Historical fiction,Non Fiction historical memoirs
One promotion in 2024 to Executive Engineer
Work ex-7+ years
4 months-HPCL-Project engineer for HRRL Rajasthan Refinery(since the stint was short nothing substantial to highlight)
Working in ONGC since Mar-2019
Initially joined at a small town Mehsana in Gujarat , worked in oil field -ensuring health of oil wells for oil production optimization , was the only female engineer in entire process installation
thn got transferred to a desk job in a department called Surface Equipment Management which handled service as well material contracts for the Mehsana Asset basically entailed Contract Scope of Work Formulation, Technical Bid Evaluation Criteria Evaluation and final award to vendor
thn got transferred to Gas processing plant Hazira in 2022
Worked in Morning Evening Shifts for about a year on a DCS control panel at Dew Point Depression Unit of the plant to ensure round the clock maintenance of gas temperature within optimum limits
was moved to desk job in Engineering Resource Group of the plant again looking after material and surface needs of the plant
currently for the last 1.5 years working in Training Centre of the plant and coordinating for the various OISD mandated trainings of the plant personnel
Devised a new initiative for the plant personnel where in a senior executive will share insights about one activity they are passionate about apart from work so as to encourage employees to not ignore the things they are passionate about
Also currently in process of devising a debut Learning Management Portal for the plant personnel in collaboration with a private vendor which will find out Gaps in the skills of the employees and suitable training module will then be assigned to each employee as per the gap identified

Hi rakku Fairly unique, industry-heavy experience for a female candidate. If it motivates you, I came from a similar industrial background and made it to INSEAD and ISB with scholarships.
I am sure that in your role you would have managed lots of complexities involving stakeholder management at all levels, from the shop floor to senior management.
An important tip that I have for you, and where most profiles like yours falter, is not being able to see their work as something beyond maintenance and operations. Look into the potential business implications of your work and decisions, and how this experience has given you insights into driving projects toward the commercial success of the larger organization.
It is your job to show that you are ready for an MBA, and therefore you should articulate clear reasoning with a strong goals strategy around why you want an MBA. Wanting to switch from a PSU to the private sector alone would be weak reasoning.
You need to focus on your application preparation with deeper industry insights forming a good part of your essays. Consider other IIMs alongside ISB.
