Hi,
I would greatly appreciate if you could access my chances of getting into the T7 b-schools given my profile under 2 scenarios: 1) with 16 months of FT experience and 2) with 28 months of FT experience
Female
Age: 24
Qualifications: B. Comm., CFA Level 3 Candidate, Canadian CPA Canadidate
University of Toronto
GPA: 3.6/4 (high distinction - top 10%)
Languages: English, proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese, and basic proficiency in French (earned a certificate in the language)
Work ex: Spent 4 months working in back office at a global custodian bank. Currently in a 30 month rotational program in the financial advisory practice at a big4 firm and have been spending the last 10 months in the business valuations practice working with mostly private equity clients on valuing portfolio companies. Will be rotating to two other rotations in either the transactions advisory practice, corporate restructuring or M&A corporate finance. I currently have a total of 14 months of FT work experience excluding internships.
Extra-curriculars: active member of Toastmasters (for public speaking), part of the Chinese Business Network at my firm that promotes bilateral business opportunities between China and Canada and the social committee in my current group
In college: Active member of the the Commerce Students Association, Director of the commerce law association
Part time jobs as a client service rep at the largest bank in Canada, Research assistant for a Organizational Behaviour professor and an Events Assistant for the Commerce Alumni Relations Office on top of full time studying
2 summers worth of Internship experience in China: 2 Month full-time internship working for Deloitte in their Restructuring practice, 1 month internship in EY Audit, and 2 month internship supporting IPOs at King & Wood Mallesons, a Chinese corporate law firm with a large MNC and state-owned enterprises client base
GMAT score: 700 (48Q/39V)
AWA: 6/6
IR: 8/8
My first choice is INSEAD but I would appreciate some recommendations on any US schools you think are within reach as well.

Sorry I should add that my goals are to work in investment management in a large pension fund or asset manager and private equity in the long term.

Thanks for sharing your profile. 16 months will be seen as largely so little work experience for most schools. HBS has leaned younger year after year but traditionally these slots go to the truly exceptional candidates. What is more realistic is for you to apply with the 28mos of FT experience. now to your background, strong GPA, GMAT could be a little higher especially for T7 but for INSEAD would be a fit. Also your language skills and work experience should be areas of strength especially at INSEAD with your work experience aligning well with your career goals. So you should be able to make a case for INSEAD based on the information provided.
