Hello,
I am a final year undergraduate at IIT Bombay (CPI - 7.6/10). I will be joining Deutsche Bank back office as a M&A analyst. I have held decent position of responsibilities at college with an organizational award . I want to know my chances for M7 with a good GMAT score (>740). Also what should i do to strengthen my profile in 3 years
A great Indian M7 candidate possesses the following -
1) Strong Undergrad brand - IIT Bombay. Check!
2) CGPA - 7.6 (Above 8 would have been super, but 7.6 is decent)
3) GMAT - I would say get a 760 or above (specially since you'll be applying in 3 years.. GMAT averages are going up every year)
4) Strong Work-ex Brand & Profile - Deutsche Bank. M&A Analyst. Check!
5) Leadership at Work - Organizing fests in college is not a huge point. Look at participating in/leading groups & activities at work - and aim for "quantifiable impact"
6) Community Service - This can be a huge differentiator for your candidature. Participate in a meaningful way and show leadership here as well.
7) Start some introspection - What's your purpose in life? What are your values? Why do you want to do the things you do? Why do you want an M7 MBA? A good check is to see whether you really understand the meaning of "Self-Actualization" (refer Maslow's hierarchy of needs)
So for you -
- GMAT 760 or above
- Leadership at Work
- Community Service
- Ongoing Introspection
