Hi,
Below mentioned is my profile. I request you to kindly take time to evaluate my profile.

24, Indian Male
GMAT: 690/Q49/V34/AWA and IR awaiting for results
Certifications: Passed CFA Level 2 and FRM Part 1
Education: B.Tech(Mining Engineering), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, a premier institute in the field of energy and earth sciences.,
GPA:3.45(on WES scale), graduated in 2011
Work Exp: 2+ years exp. in consultancy/planning arm of a leading coal producing company(joined as a Management Trainee, currently Assistant Manager). Provides consultancy services to various units within the company and private clients and undertakes feasibility analysis of projects. Involved with primary data analysis of R&D projects, funded by the govt.. Part of the dept.'s core team to redress technical issues of clients, interact with regulatory agencies and prepare monthly/annual work programs and their review.
Extra-Curriculars: Initiated and Coordinated a National level techno-management fest in ISM and Alumni Secretary cum Finance manager in Entrepreneurship cell in ISM. Achieved significant success in both of these
Target Programs: McDonough, McCombs, Jones, ISB, NUS, UC Irvine, Olin (all in R1 except ISB in R2; all for 2014 fall). I'm interested in finance specialization and I have some special interest in energy finance
Post MBA goal: To break into finance industry and attain leading positions in finance.

Your insights in this regards will be appreciated.

You should be competitive at your targets, but make sure you flesh out your short and long term goals a bit more to come off as mature and ready for your next step. You might also consider Rice if you are looking to work in the energy space.

Sorry for the delay on this--for some reason was missing this post last month. I think you have done several things to position you well for a career in finance, particularly in your speciality of energy finance. I would also look at Rice as I mentioned in the other post above. The CFA will be impressive and will help you stand out as an Indian applicant since not many Indian applicants will have the CFA designation. Your work experience is a bit light on years, but seems pretty intensive from a consulting perspective. you will need to make the connection between what you do now and how that will position you well to make the leap to finance. Emphasize the quantitative or data analytics portion of your current role. Be able to speak passionately about why finance interests you--try to say something not everyone would be able to say.

Thanks for the detailed review of my profile. Given my less work experience, I am looking forward to apply for some Ms Finance programs to break into finance industry,. Can you please suggest me MSF programs(not quant oriented) in US & Canada.

I will be grateful if provided with the info.

Most reputable MBA programs are going to have a good MS program as well, so I would start with schools known for finance such as Virginia, Chicago, Duke.
