Dear GMAT Club admission consultants,
Kindly need your help to assess my current profile and advise my chances in getting accepted to my target schools:
Biography:
- 25 Male, Chinese ethnic Indonesian. Born in a small city of Indonesia
- GMAT : 730 (Q 50 V 38 IR 8)
- Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from a private university in capital city of Indonesia, GPA 3.79/4
+ finished degree in 3 years with study curriculum that was supposed to be finished in 4 years
+ awarded university scholarships and awards during period of study
+ won 1st place in national Industrial Engineering competition representing university, being the first student from my university who successfully to do so
Work experience:
- Industry IT
- Limited international working experience: Based in Indonesia with regular conference calls and frequent visit to asean region for workshop/training
1. Internship program in Fortune500 IT company
+ being part of 20 interns who were selected from 1000 applicants
+ was the only applicant from my university
2. Sales & Product Management role in Fortune500 IT company (2.5 years)
+ offered with full-time employment after internship
+ granted awards by company for high job performance
3 Sales & Product Management role in other Fortune500 IT company (1.5 years -now)
+ was recruited to competitor with larger responsibility
Extra Curricular activities:
- President of Student Organization during university period
- Member of student religious community during university period
- Actively involved in volunteering activities with current employer
Post-MBA Goals:
- Management Consulting, and VC as long term career aspirations
Target schools:
1. MIT Sloan
2. Yale

Hi there,
You have a robust profile. Your work experience and GMAT Score is good enough to get you in a top global business school. The list of B-Schools you have mentioned is good. But if you ant to go in to management consulting then I would suggest you to target B-Schools like:
1. MIT Sloan
2. Northwestern University - Kellogg
3. Yale University
4. Duke- Fuqua
5. Michigan Ross

Thank you for your constructive feedback. If I am allowed to, though, I would like to request for your additional enlightenment on my choices of schools. feel free to share negative feedback as well so that i could reflect and create a better plan in the end.
My current plan was to apply for 6 schools, in which each of the school is classified into 3 categories (based on my personal assessment,though, so do not rely on its validity):
Category I : Stretch (low chance% of admission ) : MIT Sloan & Yale
Category II : Competitive ( mid chance% of admission) : Judge Cambridge & Oxford Said
Category III : Solid (high chance% of admission) : NUS & MBS
I am totally very thankful for your help to identify some list of potential schools for pursuing a career in management consulting. May I ask for your further help to advise me in terms of admission chances% of the schools that you provided below in regards to my current profile? Originally I was also very interested to apply into those schools but since most of them seem fall into my stretch category (based on my novice and unproven assessment), I decided to withdraw from applying into those schools.
Last but not least, I am also considering to apply into Haas Berkeley as well as additional stretch category target school. I am interested with Berkeley for its proximity to Silicon Valley (long term aspirations in VC) and high% graduates entering consulting industry. Is it both a wise choice and a good management consulting focus school from your expert point of view?
I might also need to mention that as stated before, my direct goal post MBA is to enter management consulting, but I also would like to do it at my region, possibly in my home country.
