26 years old.
BSc Computer Science from University in Bratislava (Slovakia, EU - where I come from). Graduated 10/10 (cum laude), avg. grade 8.4/10.
MSc Computer Science from Imperial College, London (avg. grade 72% (70% is an A in UK) which is enough for distinction but did not receive the distinction as my project grade was below 70%).
Bronze medal and some top placements at national computer science (algorithmics) olympiad in high school.
After finishing the Bachelor degree I worked for 9 months at a software development company (50+ employees) working on a platform for energy trading.
I have always been interested in finance, after finishing my I interviewed at JP Morgan and got an offer. Needed to return to my home country due to scholarship for at least a year though. I found an interesting opportunity at one of the biggest companies in Slovakia where I've been working now for a year and it has been extremely interesting as I am working directly with top management.
All in all, I've really gathered a lot of interesting experience in this year and will also do so in the next year as the restructuring is still not completed yet and we still have a few projects running on.
So - what are my chances? Overall my work experience at matriculating would be a bit less than 3 years. I think I can achieve a pretty good GMAT score. What universities (preferably in the US) should I am for?
My post-MBA preferable destination would be consulting or IB.

- - The company was in financial distress (loan default and too high debt/EBITDA ratio), this year we have been negotiating with the banks for a 200M EUR debt restructuring. I've participated in all phases of the restructuring, from initial IBR to all the negotiation meetings with the banks to the final debt restructuring agreement.
- As part of the restructuring, some of companies within the holding group were put for sale as well. I've prepared Investment teasers, Information memorandums, worked on valuations, prepared the data room, communicated with interested parties, and was present during all negotiations. We have sold a company for 20M EUR (EV).
All in all, I've really gathered a lot of interesting experience in this year and will also do so in the next year as the restructuring is still not completed yet and we still have a few projects running on.

Thanks for your message. I really enjoyed reading your profile. I reviewed your profile similar to other candidates' profiles that I evaluated when I was on the Admissions Committee.
Although you have a very positive and unique personal, professional and academic background for the top 15 US programs, my only concern is that you have less than 3 years of work experience. Ideally, it would be great to wait until you have 4+ years of total work experience. At the end of the day, the quality of work experience is more important than the quantity of years. Candidates with 3 years of work experience are accepted but schools prefer 4+ years. Programs tend to be fair and understanding but you will have to ensure that you communicate your personal and professional background effectively.

The more work experience you hold, the more likely you are to contribute to your classroom discussions, and be a valuable asset in the academic environment (especially towards fellow students). Now, your b-school grades entail 60-80% on what you contribute from your professional work experience across class discussions & group projects. The less work experience you have = the less you will have to contribute = the lower your grades. It is to your personal benefit that you have 4+ years of work experience when attending so that you can be successful in your b-school classes.

Thanks a lot for your reply. What I am worried is just that at my firm while this year and the next have really been intense and interesting the restructuring will be finished next year and I think there won't be any interesting work that would help me further develop and learn if I stay for a year more.
If I apply for Fall '15 I would have 3 years of experience when matirculating. I know this is a bit on the low-side, but I think I could still try to take the GMAT and apply and if I get rejected I can reapply next year?
I am aiming for schools like NYU, Haas, Duke...
