In the past I've scored a 99.41%ile in CAT (99.99%ile in Quant) in 2014 and a 99.34%ile in IIFT entrance exam (100%ile in Quant). These are the top MBA entrance exams in India
Co/Extra Curriculars-
1. Worked on 2 start-ups previously - One in the Sports field and the other in Education sector. Both digital services. However had to quit since McKinsey doesn't allow working for own/shared profit generating companies
2. Led the marketing and strategy club of my college during my MBA
3. National Finalist of a national level competition held by HUL
4. National Finalist of a national level competition held by L'Oreal
5. Winner of multiple national level scholarships
7. Have been involved with an NGO 'Prayas'. My work there includes mentoring underprivileged kids. Originally worked there for 1 month on an internship. However, have been involved with the kids voluntarily ever since
8. Have strong interests in online gaming and poker and have won several tournaments around it
9. I love traveling and have visited 16 countries till now
My target B-schools include INSEAD, Kellogg, MIT, Wharton, Cornell, IMD, IE, Cambridge and Michigan Ross
I'm planning on applying for colleges in 2020. So that by then I'll have over 4 years of work-ex.
I'm looking at top 15 B Schools across US or Europe, of course knowing a lot of B-Schools don't entertain 2nd MBA applicants
Additionally, what extra curricular activities can I hone in this time frame to be a suitable candidate by the time I'm applying?
Reason for doing an MBA are 3 -
I want to get into Strategy Consulting. Even though I'm currently working with McKinsey, it is the Knowledge Centre I'm working from. The positive is that I'm directly working with the client and assisting them. The client is one of the top CE firms of the world.
Another reason is that I'm associated with the Consumer Electronics domain since LAVA and here as well. I want to explore other industries but given my current track I don't think that it is feasible through a job switch only
Get more geographical exposure. Also since my first MBA was almost right after my undergrad, I feel I missed out a lot on experiential learning and peer-to-peer learning (since my class had almost the same level of industry exposure)
Would mean a lot if you reply. Thanks
