Profile Evaluation Required to Target more Precisely. [#permalink]

Hello Everyone,
I am presently working and planning to take either the 2019/2020 intake. Moreover, I still have to take my GMAT yet.
I have passed on my profile to various consultants and companies but most of them tend to make money or sell their product only. I want a clear evaluation of what can be possible for me to aim and achieve. I am looking to focus on MBA (Marketing) aiming for US (top and mid), Singapore (top) and Canada (top).

I graduated from a top engineering college in India (ranked 8th in India, after the IITs), during my study I was part of AIESEC (world's largest youth-run organization) as a volunteer involved in Marketing. Also, during my college I was into Entrepreneurship and Startup, I started up a small mobile servicing startup and won the Google Startup Weekend (unfortunately, we failed even before we could expand out of college). Then, I was also the President of the Entrepreneurship Club of my College. This is all during my college study.

After Graduation last year, I worked for 3 months at Uber Eats then at Present I am working as an Electrical Supervisor at a construction company inside an Oil and Gas Refinery in Kuwait.

I will take my GMAT soon and I am sure I can get good scores.

With all this, I want to really know that if I apply for 2020 intake with the same profile, what can I expect for and How can I improve?

A review for you would be way more helpful if you had your GMAT score. You're fairly in the process given your age, so maybe focus on your GMAT first and come back for a review when you have a score. One other piece of info that would aid your review would be your GPA, but again without the GMAT score even having this info would not really allow anyone to offer up a thorough assessment.

Hi raashiedm

I agree with my counterpart at Veritas...we need a GMAT score and a GPA to give you the best indication of your chances. (To have a realistic shot at the top US b-schools, I'd like to see 750+ on the GMAT please. Your demographic is super competitive.)

I like that you are working outside of India though. That is a nice point of differentiation. Over the next 2+ years, look for ways to continue gaining international experience and especially leadership experience. I'd prefer to see global, well-known brands on your CV although please don't take a job just for the brand. You should be happy and challenged too!.

Lastly, don't forget about community service. That can also be a small way to stand out in a crowded field.

Please come back in a few years once you've progressed in your career and let us know more!
Krista

Hi raashiedm,

The extra-curriculars at the college level look great as does the fact that you are garnering some international exposure with your current employer. However, a complete evaluation would only be possible with a GMAT score and we strongly recommend that you focus on getting as high a score as you can :)

Further to the above, keep performing in your current role (we need a good number of talking points/achievements to enrich your profile further) and look at getting some leadership experience in the social sector as well.

Hope this helps.

All the best!
