Hello all,
I am a mechanical engineer working in the electric drive train design team for 45 months.
Indian Male
GMAT: 730
TOEFL: 108
GPA: 3.1 / 4
Profile:
1. Working in the same company for 45 months and I have received 2 promotions during this period. I am discharging duties as a Associate Project Manager for a team of 4.
I work with myriad cross functional teams and I am responsible a special sample.
I am the Training Coordinator for a group of 150 people too. My work in this role was recognized with a One Time Award.
International work experience:
1 month in 2018 in Germany; 6 months in 2019 in Germany
Extracurricular:
I am the CSR coordinator for a group of 30 at my organization; We have adopted a school and we are working towards uplifting it to a point where students would be able to compete with other schools
Passion:
I am passionate about Automotive clean energy and since my engineering project, I can show that I have worked in clean energy for the automotive sector
I was the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) President in my undergrad and I was the captain of a team of 15.
Post-MBA Plans:
I would like to move into Strategy preferably in the same domain (Electric vehicles domain)
Target schools:
1. Rotterdam school of Management: This is my safe school
2. HEC Paris: This is my ambitious school
3. INSEAD: This is my dream school. I know I am going to waste my application fee but I really want to give this a shot.
4. Mannheim Berlin: This is my safe school
5. ESMT: This is my safe school
I would really appreciate if you can suggest any new schools to apply.

Hi sughosh9055
- Quite a few safe schools you have there. If the major reason for choosing them is safety, dispense with that. You don't need more than 1 or max 2 safe schools.
- HEC Paris may be doable for your background, with a good application. Check out some of these profiles of applicants who made it to HEC Paris .
- Your goal (strategy in the electric vehicles domain) may be a bit niche and even if such roles are offered, it will be tough to move into one directly after B-school. You need to think about expressing your goals in a better way.
- You may not be wasting your application fee at INSEAD either. Yes, it will be more competitive than the others on your list, but it is not impossible. You have international experience that INSEAD looks for, a strong GMAT, good ECA, and a decent work profile. Enough to give it a good shot.
- Rest looks pretty good on your profile, though your GPA is a bit low (compensated to some extent by the GMAT). Which undergrad institution are you from?

1. I'm planning to apply for two safe schools. I have not finalized the schools yet. Which ones would you suggest? I have A2 German language proficiency so language barrier in Germany will not be very hard
2. Regarding HEC Paris, how would you suggest to improve my profile until I apply?
3. My eventual goal is to work in strategy for EV. I would like to work in strategy for a while and then move into strategy in EV domain?
What is your suggestion regarding St. Gallen and IMD in Switzerland
4. I will apply to INSEAD since I was naive to send my GMAT score in the euphoria of my score
5. I graduated from Amrita university, Bangalore
6. In addition, I was an intern at Toyota, research assistant at Indian institute of science (IISc)
