Thanks for your reply Mr. Bodine. I am looking at Fall 2009 at this point and want to evaluate my chances( 4+ years by Fall 2009). I forgot to add that I am a module lead at work and manage 2 engineers. I do have some leadership experience. Lets say I boost up my GMAT to 730, how would you then rate my chances of getting into top 15.
I thought my leadership roles in conducting medical camps would offset my common profile. What do you think?

Regards.

spideyeclipse27,

Yes, I may have overlooked the medical camp organizing. That's clearly leadership and both relatively unusual and high-quality social impact work, so that would help you. So would the fact that you lead two engineers. These details combined with a 730 GMAT would start to make top 15 schools doable for you. Given your demographic you will still need to work hard to stand out from the pack.

Hope this helps,

Dear Paul,

Thanks a lot for your feedback. My expectations are inline with your feedback. Regarding the hard work i need to stand out from the pack, could you explain a bit more? Do you mean better essays or anything more than that.

Thanks for your time and have a good weekend.

By the way, I read your book on application essays, you have very useful tips..thanks again :)

Yes, I mean strong, distinctive essays that project personality and emphasize experiences in your life that are distinctive and show your depth (e.g. personal/family experiences, diversity/cultural stories, obstacles overcome, unusual passions/hobbies, international experiences, etc.).

Good luck,
