Could you please suggest US B-schools that I can apply to in round 2? Sharing my profile details below:
Indian, Female, Engineer
GMAT score - 750, IR 6, AWA 5
CGPA in undergrad (B. Tech. Electrical) - 8.7/10
Total work experience to date - 3 years 5 months
Worked for 3 years in US Oil major (ExxonMobil). Working in a top Energy research and consultancy firm now (Energy finance and valuations).
Post MBA goals - Energy strategy and finance based role.

Undergrad: While GPA is good, it will be useful to know what the pedigree of your undergraduate institution is. Needless to say, for M7, a tier 1 college has more weightage.
Work Experience: Ad com would be interested to know your motivations behind the switch from core industry to the advisory side. While you haven’t explicitly mentioned quantifiable career progression, the ad com would want to understand the leadership and team management experiences you have had in your career and what did you learn from them. Btw, did you have any international experience in your tenure? If yes, it's important to showcase how these experiences have broadened your horizons and contributed to your overall professional growth.
Extracurriculars: Note that ad coms look for people who are multi-dimensional, i.e apart from being accomplished in an academic/professional setting, you should also be able to demonstrate the other side of your personality where you have done things because of your passion/principles/interests/beliefs etc. To get into the top US schools, you will have to showcase “Apurva as an individual and not just as a professional”.
