12 years Sales and Marketing Management in Financial Services, 11 years managing people and/or business lines. Current position: Director, Insurance and Financial Planning, managing 12 people and $16 million revenue business line
Also I run a $1.5 million annual revenue online retail business (event ticket resale) with four employees that I founded in 2007
Age: 34
GMAT 670 (42Q, 40V) Felt very good about essay, expecting 5+
College info: Middlebury College, 1999 3.6 American Literature
Professional Designations: Certified Financial Planner CFP®, Chartered Life Underwriter CLU®, Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC®,

I’m looking to get my MBA to give me the skill set to get to the next level with my financial services career (rather than being stuck in middle management forever) or to grow my online business.
I had planned to apply the U Mass Online MBA program (already taking classes there) but I’m thinking I may be selling myself short since my GMAT would be well over the 90th percentile for them. But the low cost, and local familiarity (I Iive in and plan to stay in Boston) still have substantial appeal.
Is a top 20 online program like Indiana or UNC worth the extra cost or an exec program like Sloan (4 times the cost) from an ROI perspective? With company contributions, I’m out $15k for Umass, UNC $75k out of pocket and Sloan would be 120k out of pocket. That is if I can even get in
Could my profile get me into a top full time program like HBS where I’d consider dropping my day job for the experience?
Are there mid-tier PT or Exec programs in the Boston area that would potentially provide any merit based aid?
As they say you only do this once, and for the cost and effort I don’t want to under (or over) reach.
Any insight or thoughts you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

UNC's and Indiana's online programs are so new I can't really discuss their reputation or compare them to U Mass. Given you want to stay in Boston, I suspect that the Boston contacts you would have from the U Mass program would be valuable for you and may even be more valuable than any reputation bump, if it exists, from a UNC or Indiana program.
I don't believe your profile is competitive for HBS. MIT's EMBA program would be an excellent option. In terms of ROI, it will really open doors and an entirely different network. Would it pay off? Only time will tell. Probably.
I really think you should look into Babson's Fast Track or Part-Time program especially if you are interested in growing your online business. Like MIT, it is excellent for entrepreneurship. It's also easier to get into and less expensive.

Some very good points. I'd imagine having to explain how I got an MBA from UNC or IU while working full time in Boston whereas a local institution there's no explanation needed and a good tip on Babson. Bentley's program is also on my radar.
As for MIT Sloan, I'm concerned my profile might not be strong enough in the quant area or quite frankly that I'd be a fit. While I'm confident I could cut it, are they looking for more of the analytic background vs. marketing for example?
