First one has to wonder what kind of thunder there was in 1991! Catchy name and must be a story there.....
As far as your questions- let me mention below with colored text my thoughts...
Hi,
I am planning to go for an MBA in 2017.
If you currently have 2 yrs work then I would consider planning yourself for R1 in the fall of 2016 so you give yourself a little more time to develop work experience. I am an ACCA Affiliate and have passed all levels of the CFA exam. I also have a BSC Hons degree from Oxford Brookes University with a second upper class.
Not necessarily going to be a show stopper or something that will be hugely positive- but also not negative. Just that this is not a differentiator. One thing to be aware is that schools in US- especially in that 10-20 range of schools would be glad to get more students from UK and so you might have the most traction in this group. Currently i am working for a Big 4 firm in the Transaction Advisory Services and have about 2 years of work experience.
Would be great if you could be there long enough to get a promotion and salary increase.I have yet to take the GMAT exam which however i am targeting to attempt in September 2016.
Spend some time on the main GMAT club pages and get on this!! I am a bit clueless about the universities that i should apply to. I would like work in USA or Canada after completion of MBA in the same field that i am currently working in.
So it sounds like you are in the early stages of school selection. Here are a few articles that might help you narrow down below- plus I would add to ask yourself a few basic questions- do you care if you are in a big class (600+ which means 150 students in a class) or smaller class size 300 ish where more common to be in class of 40-50; do you like cities? Do you need greenspace? You need to ask yourself where you might best like to work? then look at recruiting reports of the schools and see which companies are key recruiters at the schools you are interested in. Looking at recruiting reports first- can help you get a WHY for particular schools. Sounds like you have some soul searching to do! Best wishes and let us know if we can help as we can take you through exercises to help you know yourself better - which can really set up apart! LInk to our site for a free consult below.
