Hello
ecfor,
Thank you for sharing. Deciding which schools to apply to depends on many factors. While it is difficult to definitively say which schools you would/would not get into, you should have a 750+ GMAT if you are applying to a top 10 business school. If you are looking more in the T15 or T20 range, your 730 GMAT should suffice. However, with a lower CGPA, you really want to have a top GMAT score, so target more than 30 points above the average.
To maximize your GMAT score, we offer
customized tutoring services with tutors who have scored in the 99th percentile on the GMAT / GRE and are graduates of MIT, Harvard, and UPenn.
Your work experience is solid and right in line with when people typically apply to business school.
In terms of approaching the school selection process, use MBA rankings and statistics such as acceptance rate and average GPA and GMAT/GRE of enrolled students as an initial guide.
Next, think about what kind of experience you want to have. Consider curriculum and location. Think about your post-MBA goals carefully and pay attention to whose offerings are the best fit.
For example, is a flexible curriculum important to you? Do you thrive with more hands-on opportunities? Is the ability to study internationally important? All schools vary in the degree to which they meet these needs, so do your research. Not only will this help you determine which programs will be the best fit, but this research will also be critical as you begin your applications.
Once you have given these areas some thought, you will want to go broad with your school selection.
Personal MBA Coach’s average candidate applies to at least 5 schools. Make sure that you have some “reach” schools, some “more likely” schools and some “safer” schools.
