Do you think taking up a course (online) related to business (strategy and leadership mainly) from cousera certified by university of penn, duke fuqua, hec paris and other similar prestigious B-schools will help in improving my profile significantly?

Hi there,
I would suggest taking online classes through UC Berkeley Extension (most people usually take accounting, statistics, or calculus if they didn't take it in college) or through Harvard's HBX CORe program. In my view, business schools view those programs more favorably. And yes - taking these classes can improve your profile by indicating to the schools that you can handle the rigor of the curriculum. Some of these courses can help you if you don’t do well on GAMT and/ or have an ordinary GPA. Courses that have fair bit of quant (statistics, accounting, finance etc.) can help if you’ve a low Quant score in GMAT especially for applicants who don’t have a quant background (through undergrad degree, professional work etc.) However, this is not a replacement for average academic stats. If you get a strong GMAT score, these courses would hardly matter.
