Paul,

Thank you for the insight, and for calming me down. After a long week at work, being able to cruise into the weekend on your comments is priceless.

Also, I hope your response will be useful for those who have taken the test multiple times and those who are considering doing so. It seems like you are saying that multiple scores is not the end of the world by any means, but a solid score within the middle 80% at target schools is a good reason to move on to the rest of the application that bears a ton of weight on admission decisions.

As far as re-taking the GMAT for internship and post-MBA career purposes, my advice is to wait until after you get in because, unlike b-schools, employers do not get to see all of your scores.

If, after mine and Paul's advice, you still cannot decide, call your target schools or check their websites. Who knows, they might tell you straight up not to take the test again because your score falls into the middle 80%. That would make your decision a lot easier.
